6v to 12v conv - battery?

Hi
I've just converted my 65 beetle from 6v to 12v and i am wondering which battery is used....a 6v battery or 12v battery?
None of the articles i've read say anything about running a 12v battery

cheers
sean

a 12 volt conversion is just that.. converting everything to 12v!
12v battery included :)

(and you may run voltage droppers for some items that cannot be converted)

the only thing i didn't convert is the starter and solenoid as the 12v solenoid won't fit my starter....can i add a voltage dropper to this?

voltage dropper probably wouldn't be able to handle the current.
i think people just run 12v through the 6v starter, it just spins faster. not sure about the solenoid.
can anyone confirm?

i got a 58 with 12v... and a 6v starter, spins up and kicks over every time, just don't hold it too long... if having starting probs give the starter a rest every now and again..

when u say "the starter didnt seem to like it" what to you mean exactly?.

Starter should work fine on 12 volts. I had one on a daily for 5 years and had no problems, just spun faster !!
