Type III wide 5 brakes
Will the type 3 wide 5 rear brake drum fit up to the later type 3 4x130 backing plate and brake shoes once the drive flange is removed?

Ok I've found my type 3 manuals and they went from 40mm to 45mm shoe width, so the shoes are too wide. So if I use the wide 5 shoes and drums will
they fit the 4x130 backing plate?

I cannot confirm this for sure, but I was told by a vw mechanic that the later backing plates can be used providing the wide 5 shoes are used in
conjunction with the drums, it all should fit. I am hoping so as I bought two new wide 5 drums off him and envisage running the later backing plates.
