new beetle cv's

My friend(ex-wife:kiss) has a new beetle 2000 model which is making woo woo sort of noises from the drive train. Does anyone know is the CV joints are serviceable at all like the ones we all know and love?

yes they are, but by your description,I would be checking wheel and diff bearings too....
EMPI make complete replacement drive shafts etc, but I have no idea of the quality... probably not as good as a rebuilt orig one.

All Golf underneath and a current model car, so a VW franchise/dealer should be able to diagnose
