tip out the old acid and "hose" out the inside of the battery to remove the buildup on the plates.Replace with new acid (preferably) or scrub the old acid....for arguement sakes just put new acid in,buy a cheap 6 volt charger or give it to T.A.F.E to charge. If you still have the "other" old 6V battery you can connect them together and use the 12V charger, otherwise as Craig said, you will kill it. Have fun..

there's a franchise group called 'Battery World' down here that sells them, not to sure if they have any stores in QLD.

I bought a great 6v trickle charger for my 60's model, you just plug it in and forget! Fully charged battery every time I take the car out :thumb

Tip the acid into a plastic container, filter the lumps/crud out of it with a plastic strainer and put it back in.
