mexican Restaurant in Inner West Sydney

Anyone know of a good mexican restaurant in inner west Sydney.

Sadly Pepe's @ Balmain seems to be gone.

Having trouble finding a replacement

I can think of a few but they're a bit of a drive...

Montezuma's in Parramatta
Jimenez's in Baulkham Hills
Texmex at Monavale (I think)

Don't know of any in the innerwest. There's also a good one at Kiama and another great one in Forster.

Sorry you lost your local one, I love my Mexican food...:bounce

and what do you think indian food is all about, or for that matter salami and most other sausages? lips and hooves, my friend...and offal and blood. mmmmm, yummy! :bounce

all the best food in the world is made out of the worst meat. it's all a matter of how you cook it. I make a chilli con carne out of the cheapest meat and beans I can find. Then I cook it to death on low heat for hours and then bake it as well. And without blowing my own trumpet, everyone I've fed it to reckons it's awesome. That includes people who are not into Mexican food or spicy food.

I am mexican... Go try it, is not the usual lots of beans and cheese which makes you feel sick afterwards, it has nice tasting meat, chicken, etc, and sauces could be spicier but that is just me, they use black beans instead of pinto which means they have an influence form the east and south of Mexico. You feel well fed but not heavy when you are finished. It is not a proper restaurant though, more like a casual semi-fastfood joint. Shame there is no easy parking around there, would make for a great cruise destination.

Chocolate Dog on King street rocks, regular cafe in the day, restaurant at night, you'll need to book for Thurs, Friday nights as it's pretty small.

The one at Forster is not the same since the original owner (whos name escapes me at the moment) sold it a few years back IMHO. He has since opened for business at the Black Head Tavern about 15kms up the road from Forster, not a lot of atmosphere but bloody great Mexican.

Cheers
