Steering Wheel Removal - 71 Bay
Just changed the indicator stalk over which was fine..
But I also want to swap the steering wheel.. I have done this before but this time the wheel will not budge..
It seems fused to the spline on the column.. I have levered it, hammered it (broke the frickin bakerlite) and tried to coax it but it is stuck
fast..
Any ideas?

If you can't get a steering wheel puller, spray some WD40 or similar into the spline and forget about it till tomorrow, then spray some more in
there. Give it a tap; then if doesn't budge continue spraying daily for a few more days, I think it will give up the ghost in a few days.
Be patient.
In the meantime don't forget to put the nut back on if you are planning to drive anywhere!

Finally came off with a bit of force..
Then the replacement wheel (off a later model dual cab) wouldn't fit.. Different diameter spline..
Oh well.. I'll be on the look out for an early bay wheel in good nick..
