[FS - VIC] 72 Type 3 wagon $1000
well we've decided its time to move on from the temporary hack to something with less paint colours so the type 3 is up for sale. we bought it about
18 months ago as a run around when i was between cars and it has served fantastically, never really letting us down (and it is driven daily).
It is mostly yellow/orange, although there are a couple of patches of undercoat on it, including over the roof and a dint in the drivers door. the
panel behind the drivers door is green as it was easier to replace then repair the dint. she is also running 14" widies with 175 and 195 tyres.
body-wise it is pretty solid, some ruast has been cut out and re-welded in the floor, there is a little bit in the front pilliars, 1 bubble or 2 under
a rear window a fair bit in the roof (still not hard to repair, just bubbling down the side about 5cm inboard of the gutters) and the airbox in the
front boot is stuffed (but hidden under trim) could also do with new door rubbers
Mechanically she starts first time every time and runs remarkably well, i understand the previous owner put several grand into the mechanics not long
before we purchased it, including clutch, starter, dizzy etc adn it shows, she runs brilliantlyand has far more power then i had expected from a
dualcarb 1600. everythign works well but 1 of the front bearings needs replacing (is loose) and the brakes have pulled to 1 side when initially
applied since we got her.
Inside the carpet is worn and the panel on the rear hatch is dodgy, but besides that the interios is in very good condition (although the backseat is
brown instead of black like the rest of the interior as the rest was taken from a notch we had) overall she's no pretty site but she makes a great
daily driver or station hack, or with some TLC she could be brought to her former glory.
We are in Lilydale, Victoria, and looking for $1500 ONO for the old girl, i would prefer not to give a phone number but feel free to email me
hrtoqy@optusnet.com.au or u2u
if anyone happens to have a nice clean late bug or super that they want to offer we may be interested in that too
pics soon
