WTB: Headlights suit early beetle

After some new headlights for my 55 bug, the ones in it aren't too crash hot and they aren't really suitable for night driving.

I'm after complete headlights, good glass, good reflector and complete with bulb holders etc etc.

Anyone?

just a suggestion - stock headlights are great with decent wiring, bulb upgrades and good (ie: new or rechromed) reflectors

yeah I want some stock headlights, but in better and more complete condition to the ones that are in the car.

I don't want some flash-bang new model headlights with bright white halogen bulbs or anything!

halogen bulbs - and I don't mean the fooly sick P-Plate blue ones - work real good in Beetle lights and you can get 6V ones if you know where to look

I have upgraded the head lights of a few Beetles over the years with Morris Mini Monor assemblies. They are cheap and usually come with 75W/55W sealed beams. I have found that a small bracket needs to be pop rivited inside the head light hole in the car to fit them. The standard Beetle head light trim, minus the long adjusting screws can be, can be re-fitted using a self tapping screw.

They look good and work well.
