Pics/diagrams required of '73 wiring route and question about Indicators.
The tinkerbeetle has developed a short, which has resulted in most of the wiring leading to the rear righ taillight melting together.
I've seen/got plenty of schematics, but have nothing on the actual routing of the wiring from front to the rear right (so that I can see where it
goes for replacement)....any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!
Also, if the speedometer is not in the car, would the indicators still work? or does it require the speedo in and hooked up to complete the
circuit?
Thanks again!

speedo does not have to be connected up for indicators to work... however make sure if you have disconnected the wires to the indicators in the speedo
that they are not touching the body.
as for the cable route through the car... i think the loom goes down the left hand side of the car to the back then accross the rear seat and into the
engine bay area through the rhs.. then it goes off to the taillights.... not 100% sure if this is the case with all models ... but that is how my oval
was wired up.
good luck with it.
see.... air and water do mix

Yes, I do believe that is what happened to the wiring
the wires were just sitting there and I had to start her up to move house. now I potentially have to get the whole wiring loom replaced, oh joy.
