Motor cuts out when you push hard down on brake pedal


Hi there all
Just wondering if anyone could help with a problem on a friends kombi. Its a 2lt twin carb motor all standard and the motor cuts out when you push hard down on brake pedal so where do i look to fix the problem.
Any help would be great.

break booster sounds like there is a bad leak in the vacume line
and make sure there is not a ddead short in the break line 4 the stop lights

yep check the vacume lines ,from the motor forward to the booster,usually one of the rubber joins has perished

for a quick test block of the vacume pipe from the manafold at the manafold than push the stopperl if it don't stop

Fixed the problem thanks by replacing the front vacume hoses (the old ones were a bit thin and brittle).
