Engine advice needed

Currently running a 1916, 120 engle, 042 heads, Dellorto's and all that jaz.

The problem I have is it's developed a miss / backfire / pop, which occurs from about 1900- 2500 rpm ish, when only slightly underloand. But dosent's do it at all when giving it a little. I've checked all the obvious things I can think off.

Added fuel carby cleaner.
New leads
Checked points 0.016
Checked timing 10 deg adv
Adjusted Tappets took them from 0.004 to 0.006
Changed plugs

Any suggestions ?

I know it's going to se somthing stupid, I can feel it.
