Should I ??

I think i brought this up a few years back but i thought i'd give it another go, i am able to get a hold of avgas from time to time and was wondering if i should give the kombi a bit every now and then. I have been running my mower and whipper snipper on it for a couple years and they love it! Do you think it would be alright?

Hey there,
My 1600 was running on it for years before I got it and it purred compared to unleaded fuel. i say do it if you can get your hands on it. I cant any more :(
Oh and it had valcum leaks on 3 of the cylinders and was still going strong. Didnt like that though on unleaded but it was one thing I fixed when I discovered that and now its sweet. But I don't know the chem on it but Im sure its got to have a higher burning point or something. More efficent or something. hehe

Another note they are selling crappy Opal unleaded up here now which sux even more then normal unleaded. It's to stop petrol sniffers so I guess if it helps it helps but doubt it. Im still running on premium though.

Why not BP100?

Ask your local BP fella if he can get 20 litre drums of BP100. High octane goofy juice and maybe cost wise better than AVGAS. Not exactly street legal though:blush:

Have you looked at simple octane boosters or even changing fuel stations? My old hi-po falcon loathed one particular petrol stations fuel.

I won't ask why you want $$$$ fuel in a VW motor, unless it's a hot one...

tstrawb74,
For free? Yowsah..Then it's up to your conscience I guess! It won't hurt your donk. No catalytic converter I assume? It'll ruin them in short order.
