Goldie info?
Looking to buy a bug and went and had a look at a 67 1300 deluxe model.
Had a sunroof (for want of a better name) with Goldie written on it.
Are these cars with the open roof particularly rare or sought after?
Can anyone give me some history about them?
Thanks in Advance

spending money
If your going to spend money on a car thats the sort of beetle to spend it on.
Still all depends how good the car is rust wise and how much you have to spend.

MMMM interesting
Why would this type of car be one to spend money on?
I will give you the trading post URL
http://www.autotrader.com.au/iteminfo/adnumber_WE2343012672_kw_beetle_loc_loc...
I must admit though that the pics make the car look a bit better than it actually is.
Is 4500 a good bad or average price?
Did these come with a dual port engine?

good buy
looks like a good buy.
From what i can see it has been put on a later pan so now has disc brakes and a motor with a bit more go.
Depending on the condition of the body i would think its a good daily driver car.Ive seen worse sell for more.
The seats arn't orginal, but still if fitted correct they might be ok.
If its a factory goldie rag roof then that just makes it one to stand out from the crowd.
But now you have posted it on here you better think quick if you want it because chances are someone will cut your lunch so to speak! LOL

thanks for the advice
I am a bit undecided really.
Isnt a 1300 motor a bit down on power? Is a single port motor diff in any major ways than a dual port?
Just out of interest what is a single port and a dual port or am i totally mixed up???
My last beetle had a 1835.
mmm i am rethinking now as it seems that it may be good buy after all.
confused

That car has been kicking around SA for years. I had originally empi 8 spokes that were gold. It has always looked good and wouldn't be too hard to
get back to its former glory!
