R8 NSW Hillclimb Championship - Ringwood 5th August (Newcastle)
As the heading says:
Sat 4th August Practice - Start 10am
Sat 5th August Race Day - Start 8:30am
Those interested in watching some motor sport action then come along to Italia Rd (Just North of Raymond Terrace). For those from Sydney its only
about an 1 & 1/2 or so up the freeway. Ringwood is good track to spectate as the race cars/ pit area and track are all within view of the side lines.
It is very well run by the MGCC with excellent catering facilities also available. Im entered and I believe there are a few other VW's going. Anyone
interested in watching? See you there!

I think I can reach a faster speed up my driveway than on this track  ...........the poor cousin of hillclimb tracks.

Well this event has been run and won. 1st place O/R went to Steven Hooker in a motor bike powered open wheeler. I had a $hit of a week end. I set a
time of 33.39 on my fist run, which made me very happy until, I f*#ked my diff on my second run which made me very unhappy. Oh well thats motorsport.
Heath set some really quick times in his beetle. He's fastest was a 32.44. This gave heath 8th o/r (out of 41 cars) and 1st on class, while christine
was also craking setting a time of 33.2 (something). Congratulations heath on the win and a new class record to boot. Read all about it in the next
issue of VWMA.
