Solex 34 Pict-3 parts
I have just installed a solex carb off a generator motor onto an alternator motor. The accelerator pump mechanism fouls on the alternator. Any body
got the spare parts to change this over? The engine is a 1600TP T1 |

I think the pumps are a different size, just make a spacer under the carb and raise it up.

if u get really stuck what u can do is shave a bit off the alternator housing and bend the arm to clear
not an ideal method but works just as good
one of my bugs was like it when i bought it and has been for over 10 years now

I was going to clearance grind the alternator so the linkage would clear but was hoping somebody had the correct parts first. The engine is actually a
warm 1915 that usually runs a single 44IDF, but due to lack of use, the Weber gums up from the sh*t fuel that we use now & usually requires a good
strip & clean to run properly. I really could`nt be bothered with that any more so I fitted a stocker of a 1600TP kombi motor that was sleeping in my
shed. So...the options are...
Find the correct linkage bits
Or...
Clean out the Weber & re-fit it...
Or...Fit the WRX turbo that I have...speaking of which...
goes anybody out there have a good 2" SU carby that they are not using? |
