My Towdster Rebuild ( Finally onto the bodywork )

As most of you would know i own a Meyers Towdster which is quite a rare car in Oz and mine is believed to be the only one curently registered in Oz also.
As most of you would also know i was supposed to of started on it a lot sooner than now but due to work commitments this has added a 2 year delay to the project but it is now well and truely on the go with the first thing being a new full roll cage which also ties into the front and rear suspensions.
Any way heres a few shots of the latest progress and i will hope fully record more of the build as we go and keep you all posted.

Andrew

The rear horn stays to stop them bending down under power , as there,ll be plenty of that now with the big 2387 and they will also eliminate the need for the engine cage to go all the way foward to the torsion tube.

Another rear cage shot
Sorry about the bad light but if you look hard you can see the tubes over my head from the twin centre hoops to the front hoop bad to be bent so as to be the right distance from my head to meet cams specs

You can see clearer in this shot how the cage now ties in to the front beam and this will reduce the car from twisting when traversing big holes when offroad

Now to some this doesn't look much but was quite a headache to get right , as we have had to cut out the old front body support tube and replace it in pieces that tie in to the front end supports but still replace the body support at the same time.
At this time my bank account is also looking a little smaller as iv've sent a couple of dollars to Rod Penrose for the engine parts while he's in the US , just a mear $3500 at this stage.

oh so you think i'mm crazy ,well stick your head under my old manx next you see it and as said you will not find a leak as leaks are only due to poor workmanship and ARE NOT a vw fault as thought by many and as it seams yourself included.

Just so no more wanna be greenies get the wrong idea there is a very good reason those rocks are called coffee rocks ...... the colouring in the water is from Andrew spinning his tyres on the said coffee rocks.

To further prove my point if you look at the picture closely you will see the colour is in the sand and not in the water, oil floats and this stuff is not floating.
