Just about to do a list and design work this morning for it to go to Dave at Custom Offroad Components to fab and fit all the suspension steering and front and rear barwork and a pedal box , then it'll be off to the fibreglassers to relocate the rear guards and fab new and front and rear guards from usig the old reworked guards as plugs for a mould

Woh , had to do a good search to find this old thread , but like the bus i'mm also back into the Tow'dster build as well as i have a deadline now and am keen to achieve as 2014 is the 50 th anniversary of Meyer's Buggies .
Well i must be feeling sick or something lately as i'mm making progress on both my rides .
Have been on the Tow'd for the day today and have got the new rear end all bolted in for the first time mainly due to the fact that i need to get it rolling again to get it over to Paul at Steel Art to make a few components up that i can't make easily at home plus pipe fabrication and bending etc .
Anyway here's a couple of pics ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and it has to be asked , will my bum look big in this .

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z342/OzTowdster/TowdBuild001_zps21c5494e.jpg

Have also fitted up one of the rear calipers this afternoon to make sure it clears the rims and all was good , and know all genuine Tow'd parts used of coarse

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z342/OzTowdster/TowdBuild002_zps4edb5a61.jpg

And a few weeks back , i also fitted up the 74 beetle steering column which Paul will hook to my Saco centre steer rack

Finally got the tyres and wheels together and fitted up to the car and it measures up to a whopping 1870mm OA width at the rear and 1840mm at the front , which with out much else fitted to the car makes it look like a praying mantus .
But i fitted up the old engine cage for a look last night and even just with that fitted it soon looked quite normal .

Well , i have been a bit slack lately on the posting of progress , but the good news is there has been plenty , although to some of you it may not look like much has been done at all .
To jump back a few weeks i have now moved the car over to Paul at Steelart Creations here in Brisbane and am very happy with the progress we have acheived in such a small time frame considering the steering column alone took a lot of head scratching for something that has ended up only 200mm long .
Ill let the pictures of the latest progress speak for it's self .

That oh so short steering column

It's surprising how fast you can fabricate items when you have had nearly 10 years to think about the build and a good mate to push me a long , not to mention his input and great machining and fabrication skills

A bit more work of late with the rear engine cage starting to take shape , which is no mean feet when getting it around some big arse Dellorto's , keeping a decent departure angle , fllowing the lines and holding up a deck lid , and all looking good at the same time

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z342/OzTowdster/TowdBuild013_zps3cea03de.jpg

LED tail light will be fitted in between the ends of the twin bars , and yes we have managed to fit a TRIMIL bobcat exhaust in there too

Have also ordered quite a bit of gear lately from the states which we will pick up while we're there in Oct , including a full set of Speedhut guages , a new deck lid , a jamar pro X shifter , a Berg GB454 carby linkage kit , a real bosch alternator , some nice german tinware plus plenty of other small goodies
