WTB Stock 200mm 12 volt flywheel (Sawtell)

My 1600 Beetle flywheel has a badly chewed ring gear & I need a replacement. I don't have much to spend, so I'm hoping someone who's going to Sawtell might have one they can bring with them as I imagine postage would be a real killer.

Cheers,

Matt.

Not sure Daimo, haven't had the flywheel off yet, engine still in car (just getting the parts together). At the moment I only drive it locally & spend a lot of time looking for hills to park on.

Currently has 6volt starter & flywheel running on a 12 volt system. I'm glad you replied, I was told by previous owner that Mark did the engine swap & 12v conversion many years ago in the Nambucca workshop.

Engine no. is AB 943669. I think it might have started life as a 1300 twin port but is 1600 now.

Regards,

Matt.

No Daimo sorry,

I'm still driving it occasionally (when I can find a hill to park on)

Forgot to mention that it is a dual relief case too.

Yeah Craig, it had crossed my mind but I'm not sure if its been touched since Mark Pell did the engine swap & conversion, way back. You never know, some mug mechanic might have replaced the starter based on the year model of the car, rather than the engine in it. I guess I'll just have to wait until I can get it out & pull it apart.

Daimo,
I think I should leave this until I've got the engine out & flywheel off, which isn't likely for about a month. I'll get in touch then & If you're able to help, I can always do a quick run up to Valla in my rice burner.

RISKY_VW

Thanks for the offer but I'm putting it all on hold until I know exactly what I need.

Regards,

Matt.
