Avavtar problems HELP!!
Hi,
Just trying to upload an avatar from my home comp, but getting this error:
Error
The ./images/avatars/uploads directory is not writeable, make sure to set the permissions ( CHMOD ) for the folder to 777 on your server.
Can anyone help please?

I'm getting the same error message as zalman1.
The format is just like Samba and I've never had a problem uploading a correctly sized avatar there.
I sure wish someone could set me straight on a direct upload from my rig.

Try the photobucket site to host your pics. Woeked first time for me. They even have a tool to size you pic perfectly for an avatar.

I'm not doubting the photobucket route works, I just want to understand why the direct upload isn't working for me and what to do to achieive that
end.
I'm no techie, but I can usually navigate around typical problem areas, but this one is puzzling to me.
The direct upload should work, but isn't.
How about a savvy mod filling me in on this?
