I would be happy to help but am at the Jamboree this week end if this rain stops.
Does the engine have a degree pulley and crank,
and number one rod and piston in place?
Otherwise take the cam to Jack Brothers racing and have them do a 'cam doctor' test on it.
I think Tighe's have a machine to do it also.
Procedure:
Put a dial indicator on the lifter and zero it when lift is zero.
Rotate engine 'til lift is .050" (50 thou)
Write down degree reading (say 20 degrees before top dead centre)
keep rotating engine clockwise past maximum lift and keep going til you are 50 thou short of zero lift.
This will be, say, 60 degrees after BDC and write this down too.
Add the two numbers= 20+60= 80 degrees, + the 180 between tdc and bdc= 260@.050"
to get the 'lobe center' divide that number by 2 to find the middle,
and subtract you start position of 20 degrees = 130-20 =110 lobe centre.
To do the exhaust, the lifter will open .050 before BDC and close After TDC.
Using the same numbers it would normally be opening 50 thou 60 degrees before BDC
and closing 20 degrees after TDC.

Always check your pulley or degree ring has accurate TDC markings FIRST!
This is why I asked about the number 1 piston and cylinder
