T3 Running Poorly
My 2.1 watercooled is playing up ...reading the Bentleys theres lots of resistance checks to do ...just hoping someone has had the same problem!!!
It starts fine but has a flat spot on take off ,which then sends the idle to 2000rpm and has no power ...trying to clear it will cause
backfiring/popping thru the intake.persistence will clear it and top end is fine ..until you slow down or change back a gear!!!
Thanks in advance to any helpers

rough running
Hey there,
here's my suggestions, I've been through the rough running a few times with my Syncro, check the micro switch on the throttle body is switching,
with the engine off move the throttle butterfly slowly off idle, you should be able to here it 'click' if not it may need adjusting / replacing,
they can get corroded and stop working, todays lesson will be Bently 24.35.
If that doesn't fix it replace the Temp 2 sensor, just replaced mine, made a surprising difference, really smoothed out cold starts + general
running.
Oxy sensor can also can make quite a difference. both the Oxy and Temp2 tend to go out of range gradually rather than just outright fail.

It's in the throttle body or rather the small switch which controls fuel.
I would gather it is set too far retarted.
Firstly drop fuel pump and remove rust from pump...
Correctly re attach wires and then. Adjust small allan/Hex(4mm?) key throttle fuel on/off switch on bottom of throttle body;
if u have seen it you will know what i am talking about.
Keep the steering and the propulsion seperate . Still a Kombi...
It's all good, until it's bad, i suppose

Digipants Pro.
If you haven't already seen it, there is a dealer manual called " Digifant pro training manual" which contains VW factory info and basic
explanation of the system and how to fix and adjust.http://members.verizon.net/blumax/protrainingdigifantvanagon.htm this is the first link that google spat out there is also a
site that you can down load a zipped version, if you have a look.
good luck with it,
Steve. |

Digipants Pro ...its very good ...thanks for the lead steve ...ive bookmarked it..no success yet ...found the airfilter trap full of water ...good
washable airfilter which looks like its stopped it???..no clicking at the throttle , and the resistance is wrong 0.06 at idle position with no change
thru range to full throttle ...so needs further investigation,,,after i try adjusting the the throttle switch...
Also got a strange humming noise coming from the rear cab vents (dualcab) ..wondering if that has something to do with fuel tank/charcoal cannister
Thanks for any help!!

Oh yeh how much was "new" throttle body. U2U $$ if u like.
i am dealing with the slight jutter or surge at low RPM in 3rd to 4th gear just going through town at 55ks in 4th that kinda thing.

I suppose in all the excitement it's easy to do. not that i have done it but i am sure many have.
Hoefully the rims are still all good.
Me i always have the thought i hope i done them all up tight enough as i drive of down the road.
