What kind of buggy is this?

A club member has just acquired this buggy & wants some help to identify the make. Here is an excerpt from his e-mail & some pics.

"it appears to have the fuel tank mounted in the rear l/h side
It looks like an American Kalita except for the r/h dash pod
The front bulkhead under the dash is missing making me think that body was never finished
.It is in new unused condition & colour is bonded into gel coat"

the late LWB version of the Kalita. I was told they were made in the late 70-early 80s by J&S. looks like it's in good nic. how much did he pay for it?

BTW, I think it should have some matching side pods. did he get them with it?

My mate had a yellow one of those in the 90's. He bought in QLD and drove it around Australia back to Perth. He sold it not long after that because he was going O/S. It's probably somewhere in WA still.
