my new lowy

hello guys and girls , well i finnally have her. a 1970 lowlight deluxe . i picked her up on fathers day so it was a great 1st dads day gift from wifey and the boy .so the resto begins (about time ) . she is fairly good nick ,ive started striping theinterior and finding that she has less rust than first thought .so the signs are good ..the engine bay is clean and rust free . shocking i know ,but you have to love those canberra vans .nice straight roof and most panels are in good condition .anyway i guess this is where i say that you will be getting all those questions about what to do next and what the hell is that .hope you all have some good advice . and for all of you out there that are looking for that restoration either a bus or a bug head to 8nicks yard ,in canberra . he has about 50 busses and twice as many bugs .. if we dont then thay are going to the uk .
cheers

i pick her up from nicks yard which is about 30 km from canberra .as i said he has a heap of bays, a few lowlights left ,about 10 splits that he is not letting go of and about 300 bugs . there is heaps there . things that should be wrecked to things that are in great condition and need some love . if anyone is looking for a bug resto i would head here first .anyway he is near bungandore .and his number is in the back of volume 12 of vwma .or if you want it you can send me a pm ..
as for mine ive taken all the old tar sound proof out of the engine bay as well as the sound proofing that was on top of the engine bay and in behind the back seat .so far no rust . front passager seat and old shitty black mating . all the sills are in tact and beautiful .so im thinking that it will be sooner rather than later for the primer to go on. its hard not to be excited .its just hard to work out where to start after she is guted . any ideas .
cheers redhotchilliwilli
