Interest in an Australian All Motor site?
Hi guys.
I have been a lurker on this site for a while keeping tabs on what is happening in the VW drag racing scene. I am part of the Hi-Comp Performance All
Motor Civic team. I have spoken at length with Morgan and his mob at the last 2 Sport Compact events, but unfortunately have not had the opportunity
to speak to any of the others that enter these events. The attitude of the VW guys with their racing is second to none. :thumb
Those that are interested in all things NA may have noticed a great deal more interest in the All Motor class over the last year, and this was
particularly noticeable at the washed out Jamboree event. I know first hand how popular this class is with the Honda guys with 11 entries in the class
at Jambo.
I am now looking at setting up a dedicated All Motor site where all makes and models can discuss all things All Motor including the rules, rule
revisions, the teams, the cars, keep up to date with results etc. Its not a site about which make is better than the other its about the racing side.
More in line with some of the US drag racing sites.
So that the site will not be dominated by one make I am looking to get as much input as possible from as many sources as possible, hence I need some
VW nuts to keep us updated with all things in the VW scene. This All Motor site is by no means a replacement for the individual make sites, more a
common ground for all passionate about All Motor drag racing.
Are any of you guys interested? If so feel free to send me your ideas or post them here in this thread.

I am always interested to share or hear ideas on what everyone is up to(especially the Hondas!)
Excellent idea
It should make for some more friendships and in the long run faster more enjoyable competition.

That pretty much sums up the idea behind the site. If we can promote and advance the class by being unified, all the while stregthening the bonds
between competitors we have to be better off.

Its good to see a bit of interest here. I also posted the same thread on Ausrotary to get those guys involved but there has been very little
enthusiasm over there. Its a pity really.
Anyway, I thought you guys might be interested in this list I have of the Top 20 All Motor vehicles. Note, that these times are for cars that have run
since the All Motor class began hence some really old quick times have not been included. This is to try and make it more relevant to those currently
competing.
Top 20 All Motor List
To Rod, I am unable to reply to your PM because I do not have enough posts yet.

You can't compare the 60ft times to previous times as this car is a totally different car and setup to the others. Wednesday night was the first time
it has made a pass.
I have updated the list with his times.
Can someone please verify the times I have for the VW guys.

i was comparing it to the same car as it use to have a k20 and now has a k24 ,same tyres ,same wheels, same weight, but the other engine had quads and
cams.20 kw less than before but nearly 80 ft pounds of torque more.

Its a totally different car. This is actually the 3rd incarnation they have had. First had K20 with quads, 2nd had K20 with some aftermarket manifold
(RGB from memory) with 80mm throttle body. Now they have the 3rd wih K24 and Westside custom inlet manifold and 80mm throttle body.
Each one has been a different car. I know its hard to keep track of all the cars Yonas has done.

My best speed was 118.2(yes only minor details!)
I am not sure how these numbers fit your list,
but rod Richardson has run 12.04 (not sure of best speed)
Peter Page has run 11.96 in the same car.(12.02 fairly recently)
They can check the list and confirm the details of speed.
Thanks,
DB.

sorry grumpy.
the grey car was actually the old blue car that had the quads, and z's car is the white one that had the cam's and manifold with a 76mm throttle body
(BDL),you may be getting confused, but i can confirm the setup of the grey and the blue are identicall as they are the same car.Yonas is to tight to
buy a new car and has had this grey/blue car since the begining of JDM Yard,it is Z that changes cars like he changes his undies.

I linked to the list in my 3rd post. Click on the "All Motor Top 20 List" in that post and it will take you to the list that I have currently on
ozHonda. I have to make the changes that Dave Butler mentioned above though.

Hi guys. I'm reviving this as it has come up again from the rotary guys. I never got around to doing anything with this as I started my business at
the same time and had lots of other things happening. But now, one of the rotary guys has set up a simple site for us to get started with:
ALL MOTOR WEBSITE
It has only been temporarily set up today so there is nothing much on there but that does not mean it cannot be used. This site is for ALL MOTOR DRAG
RACING so make sure we use it for its intended purpose. Discuss, rules, times, the class, where its heading etc etc.
See you over there.

Ok jamboree's over ....So what now ? if there are only two rounds next year ( which i think is a bit strange) as QLD can and has supported 2 rounds
the third would be obviously Sydney , The unfortunate size of our country means we tow for 12-14 hours which means at least 2 more days off work ..
Unless we all pool together and hire a car transporter to sydney for that round .I'd be more than happy to do that ..accom and airfare i can help
with as my lovely wife runs a couple of flight ctr offices ,as we saw at jamboree we can get the numbers there a field of 20 cars was a very good
turnout , also the field was very close ,mostly 12 sec cars and faster .. imo thats as good as we get here ( in Australia) as mentioned in "other
"threads maybe we should be looking at pooling sponsorship dollars otherwise the cost of travel at our level is just not an option.Another idea i had
was perhaps a multi event class in Queensland is another option , i know this is really out there but what if we have our own series that doesn't
require us to book the track , wtf? i hear you say ? .... here's my idea there are at least 100 test n tune events a year right? ... why don't we
make our Qld series at them we could have 10 rounds a year and at the end we'd have a champion ... we can borrow on the point system from somewhere
i'm sure , The major plus to this is if it works , we have the platform for a state championship ...if we have that we can take it to Andra or Sport
compact .. Now it wont be too hard to organise we can setup a round robin system to have our runs at each event (if you've ever played tennis you'll
know what i mean .)Then after the first event we'd have our rankings .. now because test n tune meetings are dyo noone has any advantage.
Before you write this idea off just give it a min and think about it who wouldn't want our own Qls series theres enough of us vw's Honda &
Rotary ... bare with me on that ...
ok within hours of posting this we now have a series sponsor .. probably over 5 events for the year ... Private track time under the banner of
Speedtime with the suport of Ray box from Sport compact as well , stay tuned .. all is being worked out , details to follow ..Who's interested ?
