This is nice.

This is a little 62 we picked up this week. 54k miles and just a treat. If you're gonna be in the market for a nice, nice car, this one will be for sale soon.

I was wondering about that Dave. The bonnet would have to be among the best fits you'll ever see. The shut line is perfect all round. Never been bent. So I don't know what the deal is there. Must have a closer look.

If its 62 then it should have the 2 springs on the honges and not the strut opening support

Unless someone has added the badge does it have the raised bump under the VW center bonnet badge ???

no matter it still looks tops

Yeah it's got bonnet springs and no raised section under the VW logo badge. I reckon they've upgraded the badge. They seem to have been fanatical about their little car. Nice German couple.

Jim. Don't know where the $5k came from. I think that might have been kombimatt foolin round. Haven't given it much thought yet. I think it's nicer than $5k. If it's not worth $5k, I wish I'd known about it before we bought it.

Foolin' alright

Just Foolin' big time boys. This little lady is worth way more than that.

No matter what it sells for someone is going to get a real nice old bug. I just love the early bugs.

Brad keep us posted on its progress.

Its worth a hell of alot more than 5k as you say Matt......An unrestored bug in that condition ? Would love to see how much. All you have to get rid of is the shite mirror. (I am sure with Brads eye that would be in the bin by now)

I am more concerned about the little old lady you got the bug from........Is this a result of hanging around nursing homes Brad ?

If so great work. Let me know and I will give it a shot. You never know that 23 could be just around the corner !!!!!

Cheers

The mirror went in 30 secs after the "before" pic was taken Matty. Dave it's just been washed and wiped over with paint cleaner. Haven't cut and polished yet. It'll come up a treat. Behind the front number plate the bonnet has had 100% protection from ageing and the paint there is like glass....as it came from the factory.
I'll take some more pics. Should see under the front lid.
