WTD: font bonnet seal moulding
Not sure if this exists, but i need to replace the semi-circular moulding that holds the front bonnet seal on my 1500 Beetle.
Does anyone who if you can buy this moulding as an aftermarket part and weld it on, or do you need to cut one off a wreak?
You assistance is appreciated.

You will have noticed this is a bit of a rust trap.
Think about getting rid of it and running a Mexican seal.

Whats the difference between the two seals, like shape, and how does it attach?

"normal" beetles you feed the rubber into that C that is brazed to the body
Brazillian it is smooth (not saying a word :spin and the rubber seal is
glued/clips to the hood.
The benefit is dirt/crap doesnt build up, or trap moisture and rust out the body.
Dont have it myself - but it is on the "to do" list.
Yes - the seal can come off the hood, but is easily re-attached.
I guess it could trap moisture on the hood, but it is a lot easier replacing a hood than cutting rust out of a body

Thanks for the info guys.
I want to keep the car 100% original (or close to it) so i will put the original moulding back on.
Cheers
