not so good sounding 2 litre motor in brisbane


My son has a mate in brisbane who has a kombi with a crook sounding motor. any of you guy able enough to have a listen and tell him what is wrong??? he's had a guy( not a vw mech) look and said " oh mate , it's gonna cost ya $2000 to get that fixed" what bullshit. get a new motor for that. any help????? fish
