pearcvale bug

Hello folks, Names Rowan, today i went down to pearcedale to have a look at a '71 bug. an ex show car. paint needs attention and i found a bit of nasty rust but it has an empi quick shift, nice i think 1500 maybe 1600 engine, redone interior and fush rims. I'm looking to replace my daily driver so it will have to be reliable. Does anyone live in the frankston area that would be able to take a quick drive to have a look? or i can pick you up. Would greatly appreciate it. I don't know enough about bugs to know if its worth the $$$. But also don't want to miss out on a potentially good deal. Please help me......CHEERS, Rowan

Hello, well this "nasty rust" was only coming through the paint. possibly easy fixed. "potentially good deal" meaning any problems with the bug might not be that difficult to fix. I'm new to this VW thing so dont know whats easy fixed and inexpensive and whats not, Cheers

every thing bolts on - so "most" fixes are relatively easy

Rust is a beetles worst enemy

A rust free beetle is the holy grail

Ok good to hear. It also had drums on all 4 wheels which i didn't think was right. Its been converted to 5 stud. So i guess the drums up front were the easy option
