floorpan mods - rigidity
Hi guys,
Am currently about to prep and paint the IRS/Balljoint pan for my Ghia and got to thinking about ways to make it more rigid.
Just wondering what you guys have seen and/or done in your time?
I was thinking of adding seam welds down the tunnel on either side/top & bottom.
MAYBE boxing in where the 13mm body-pan bolts go through.
And adding front beam braces.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers,
Cam

I had heard that seam welding had gone out of favour? something about always popping seams and damaging panels. That stitch welding was now the best
option?

Always has been, really... Stich welding can be applied in a 'random' sequence that doesnt heat the metal too much in one spot (leading to warping)
and stiches (or the space between each) prevents cracks travelling along the path of the weld :thumb
