movement in my ball joint front end


hey all just wondering if any one has any opions on why the top arms have play in them mainy on full lock im pretty sure its the bearings

also check the locating screw that goes thru the trailing arm and locates into the torsion leaves I've had mine come loose.

YES it sounds like the locating screw that hold the torsion springs into place are loose.

Loosen bothe sides off and re tighten making sure that the conical point on the screw goes into and locates the spring into the tube.

this is quite common on Type 3s for some strange reason but aint seen in on a Beetle. Always a first time

Hard to say without getting it on a hoist and having a wiggle - but I would expect bearings to have an effect at any angle. More likely you're looking at the ball joints themselves, or the torsion leaf screw...
