oops ouch rats

as a few of you know, I have a badly screwed up leg from 30 years ago, (broke it 3 times in 4 years) things got a lot worse Monday night when I 'fell off" my built up shoe while turning around, instead of the usua twisted ankle there was a loud snap, the Fibula snapped through just where it joins the ankle & the whole ankle dislocated about 4mm, I will be able to drive the kombi & pajero but beetle is in forced retirement, I am having withdrawal symptoms already, having done over 20,000km in it in last 12 months, at the moment it is too painful to even sit in frony of computer for more than 10 mins so I guess I will watch a lot of DVDS

thanks for your concern, however things happen in threes still comes to mind & I dont want the car on the news, rotten thing is that it is very hard to get even get up the sides of the car inthe garage, huge potential for damage with the metal crutches

I feel your pain, I've been off work for 6 months after surgery on both arms and hands. Reduced capability sucks and sucks even more when you can't work or drive your toys.

yeah it is sort of infuriatiing, cant do things 'cause i dont have time , now i have time but cant do anything, at least after the shoulder reconstuction last year I was able to get a fair bit done, still, I dont have to mow the lawn, wash up, or put the garbage out, & also dont have to clean up cat vomit, so it isnt all bad

Bugger mate - sorry to see and hear the bad news!

Here's to a speedy recovery! Were they able to whack back in a bit extra length at the same time so you can wear normal shoes? I am guessing not, but anyway, hope it heals a little better this time!

Easy, all you have to do is get tboned on your motorbike by car coming through a stop sign on your left while looking to the right, then 15 months later while just starting to walk have your tib & fib snapped clean thru by the bottom rung of a step ladder proppelled by the weight of a 100kg dickhead standing at the top of it, after the 2 core elictrical lead holding it together broke, then wait a few years & drive a Hiace full of chequebooks up a pole at 80kmh at 4 in the morning (only other car on the road thought he was the only car & changed lanes on me, I am only alive after that because I did not have my seat belt on & was thrown out when the door burst open, unfortunately my left leg tangled in the pedals & both bones snapped, 2.5 inches of leg missing makes it hard to walk accurately as you are constantly mentally recalculating distances, & I fall over a fair bit, unfortunately this time things went a bit wrong, maybe I need to get the other leg shortened, I think it is my lucky leg ....
