No longer for sale. (fixed)
Seller's Name – Mark
Suburb / Post Code – Malanda. Atherton Tablelands. Queensland. 4885.
1974 Volkswagen Beetle L Sedan (elephant’s foot tail lights).
Condition – Not running. Engine removed and disassembled. Reason for sale: No longer need this vehicle and rather than spend more money to repair
or replace the engine, I’d rather clear it from the garage and let someone else enjoy it. My wife was using it as a cheap daily driver until she
killed the engine. Sob!
Has snoopy decals on the side and tribal decal on the bonnet. Mags on the back. Spare. Standard wheels on front.
Engine (bits) are a 1750cc twin Kadrons, exchange engine from Mick Motors. Electric fuel pump.
Chassis/VIN: 1342768091
Engine Number: AS131293
Photos below.
Item Cost - $1,500 ono
I'd like to sell this by the end of November at the latest. Otherwise I'll probably change my mind and spend the $ to fix the engine.

Yes, you can....
She drove it uphill very fast with no oil. Red warning light? What red light? She rang me to tell me the car had stopped. When I checked it out
there was very little oil in it. After filling the oil I cranked it and it gave a nasty clunk. Towed home and pulled the engine out and disassembled
it. Number 3 cylinder's conrod is dry and rattling on the crank. Pistons look ok, but the crank case has a gouge in it from whatever piece failed.
Small bits of metal (tin or brass??) were inside the sump. Something has failed under stress and a piece has stopped oil from getting to the #3
conrod.
I dont have the money to experiment with trying to fix it myself and now we have 2 other vehicles the little beetle is just a fun ornament. I'd
rather someone use it than us spend money on it to fix the engine and not use it anyhow. That's a longer answer than you probably wanted, but it's
the reason for selling.

Withdrawing from sale. Just picked up an engine. She'll be back on the road again in a few days. Hooray. Thanks Roger!
