Where to cut - windscreen repair

I've got to repair the base of the windscreen on my '54 Oval. I've sourced a new section, which despite the surface rust, scrubs up quite well. The only real defect is the previous repair in this photo, which I will patch properly.

I had intended to take the whole section out to the drip rail - but I reckon that may prove nigh on impossible.

Any suggestions on the best place to cut and weld. Welding will be done by a mate with a very nice TIG. I've done heaps in the past with oxy but clearly, I need to minimise distortion here.

I was thinking the outer of these two lines, as it has a bit of a curve there and may warp less. The inner line though may be easier to get a dolly to the back of. Guys?

yes cut where you have indicated

its easier than trying to straighten and align the drip rail
