Shannons Nostalgia Drags, Sydney, Dec 2007
Thanks to Cruzin magazine for hosting the Shannons Nostalgia Drags once again at Western Sydney International Dragway.
The event marked 12 months since the first HA/GR passes in Australia. The first field saw 6 cars making history and taking drag racing 50 years back
to when a guy with a few tools and pile of parts could tear up the track. This year the Nostalgia Drags was host to a field of 10 Hambsters. With at
least another 5 finished or almost ready we are seeing the start of a revolution in traditional homegrown racers.
Rod Hadfield shows Sydney his Humber powered HAMBster.
Simon Telford's EJ Holden
Luke Griffiths first run after trading his '32 for the 68 Plymouth Satellite. The big 440 pushing that barge to 12.7.
Shayne Ide bowed out at the 2nd qualifier, the blown 429 dropping a rod.
Noel Inman shows that even skyscraper can burn rubber. With a 302 Windsor, Noel ran the 1922 Centre Door T down the track for a best of 12.04.
Joseph Rodriquez's blown Hemi sucks down some alcohol and fries the tyres.
Greg Ford's FJ Holden gasser was a favourite of the day for me.
Alan Burgers big block powered '30 Coupe running straighter than ever.
Jefferey Danglmaier
Matthew Hale. The first straight 8 powered HAMBster.
Alan Odgers lines up with his flatty agains Hadfield's 300 cubic inches of truck engine!
Nick Mastromauro
JD takes a ride in JR's Hamb Gas Rail.
Josh Boskovich launches hard in the Clevo powered XA.
Paul Moneley's Chevy Nova looks like it's doing 7s even when it's standing still. By the way, it does do 7s!
Hayley Jenkins frying daddies tyres again.
Joseph Rodriquez boots his Model A to a 10.1! Smashing the Hot Rod index of 11 seconds. Uncle Joe will be moving into Vintage Gas to play with Alan
Burgers in the 9s.
Daniel Geary's very tough 29 Sports Coupe. One nasty Windsor got a consistent work out all day.
Haddy's cage had everyone scratching their heads.
Rob Brown's FX Holden received a warm response from the crowd.
Chad Taylor added a blower to the Clevo. The Series 1 LandRover really churning the tyres now.
Ezio Caciotti
Coral Dyer
Peter Cashin always get the bread to you piping hot in his Anglia.
Garth Bell's 451 powered Dodge Dart. Now engineered, registered and street driven!
Joe Formossa
Daniel Ind
