COUNTRY BUGGY PRODUCTION FACTS

Here are some interesting production facts taken from the Clayton archives;

DATE 1200cc UNITS 1300cc UNITS
January 1968 0 units 0 units
February 1968 0 units 42 units
March 1968 6 units 214 units
April 1968 30 units 119 units
May 1968 8 units 170 units

On this basis over 2/3rds (633 units) of the total 887 units available for sale in Australia were produced in just 4 months.

The 44 1200cc units were the total 1200cc units produced. In April 1972 there were still 16 unsold 1200cc vehicles and these were all converted to 1300cc. These vehicles may not have had the F125XXX series motors but they would have had low KO numbers as they were produced very early on in the production output. I do not know any example of the 28 1200cc vehicles on the CB Register.
Hope this is of interest.
