White wall inserts Vs painting

Hi guys,
Got some dunlop 300Es for the replica to see if I can get it to brake a bit better but they are jnot white walled!
Q. Also have a set of white wall inserts that I have never used. The rubber ones that fit along side the tyre...
Has anyone used them?
Feedabck good bad?
I have heard ther don't allow the tyre to seat properly and therefore they leak!

Else how much to paint a white ring on them and who does it in Melbourne?

Flappers or inserts can be a nuisance as mentioned if you've got a lowish profile tyre. No probs on some. Dennis 0414986263 does etched 3/4" whitewalls which are pretty much trouble free. $100 or so. They'd look great on that. Period correct for a 60's car. Go for it!!

Thanks guys,
The tyres are 195/65/15 fittingon the 356 mangels.
I will see how they go ( and carry a pump by the sounds of it!)
