Help - I dont want my VW going overseas!

I just got an offer for Raus from the US (they don't muck around with nice MK1's) the problem is i really want him to stay in Australia.

If anyone is interested in him please contact me ASAP.
Raus has the following features:

1.8 8 Valve
Cold Air Intake
Sachs GTI clutch (installed only 6 months ago)
Spax Adjustable shocks
Koni Springs lowered 30mm
GTI BBS RA's powdercoated and painted white wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports
GTI Brakes
Sports Exhaust
GTI Golf Ball Gearknob
GTI Flares
GTI Duckbill spoiler
Original Vinyl Brown Interior
Blaupunkt Cd Player
Rego: till Sept 2008

They have offered me $4k, here are some pics:

Hi Coz, It seems to me that you are emotionally attached to this car and therefore should not sell it. If its needs to go for financial reasons then its a different story.....sell to whoever has the $. Wayne:)

a different opinion from someone who lived overseas and who values good cars ...

this is a classic Golf, there are hardly any left in Australia nor in Europe in this condition. The car is registred and in excellent shape plus it is well under way to become unique as it has been left alone from tuning and is original. I lived in the US and people there don't value cars at all. I also think it should stay in Australia because it is one of the best countries in the world ! The US is terrible. You'll probably find a buyer here also. There are a lot of Europeans and people from England who look exactly for this kind of car.

All the very best !!

Nick u speak the truth yes there are plenty of Mk1 Golf's in Australia but they have been thrashed and bashed. It almost impossible to find a 3 door and now the time has come where decent 4 door's are getting rare.

I knocked the person back in the US as im in no hurry to sell (as the baby is coming in July!) so if i don't sell it by then i will look overseas.

Tim no probs perhaps a Passat would be better :)

Costa, same situation with the notch I had for sale. It eventually went to a US buyer as there was no interest from anyone here, until after it was sold.....
The freight to the US cost the buyer almost as much as the car.
AVDers, dont let our rust free cars head off shore.

I can vouch Costa's the MK1 golf, tight as a drum, and zippy too, a great little example of a rare and soon to be rarer VW.
