My first build (sold) 68 12A - Beetle

This was my first build, some may remember it...I bit off more than i could chew at the time, i was 18 and it was my first car...

I thought to myself, hey why don't i stick a Rotary in it! Never again, keep it aircooled!

Anyways hope you enjoy the pics, this car has currently been sold and is up in townsville. I will post up shots of my new build once i get them loaded.

Enjoy!

Excellent - having owned several rotaries in my time, and also being a fan of early Type 1's - I love it!

i agree with u mick rotas in beetles is just stupid
ive got a 1500 as well that was very similiar but black and had early model guards on the rear as well tho the fuchs were black/chrome

but as its already been set up for water im putting an EJ22 in it

biggest prob with rotas in bugs aside from the fact theyre rough as guts is they upset the cars handling
VWs were designed to have boxer motors so u throw off the center of gravity when u put something else in,
the other reason im going subi

Hi

I'd love to drive a rotary bug and try and make it handle.

Is the number plate on the black oval EMP156?

hee, yep. I never got it to full throttle before i sold it, due to a difference in throttle pedal difference. The guy up in townsville got it going full bore, not sure how well that went down...

Correct CT, your a local so you prob no him or have seen him around. His had been dreams for that car for many years. Love to see it going when its done.

Love your ride BTW, saw you and spoke to you very very briefly at eastern creek a few months back, think you ran a high 14 or something

Hi

I sold the yellow one in August 2004. The white one is a stocker, I still sort of own it (I pay all the bills), I gave it to my son on his 16th birthday last November. The one in the garage will be mine when its done.
