Dont you love it when new bits and pieces arrive, no matter what they are. Mick, just a question about the water pipes under your car. Are they temporary things holding the pipes in place to the floor or the final bolts. Its just that they look very long. Keep the photos and updates coming.

Cheers, Kev

They're Cleco's holding the pipes on, used in aviation for holding two pieces of sheet metal together before riveting. But they are very handy for other uses also.

Far out. You are giving me bad (good) thoughts that the wife would divorce me over. Looks like Brad has done this before and knows exactly what he's doing. Great job Brad, Mick and the boys at Westside.

Hi

I was over at Westis shop the other day, the pump is mounted on the tank for tight packaging purposes, we all know as you add more things to a bug you run out of space.

I'm going to get Westi to do a similar thing to my tank, then I can do away with a lift pump and surge tank, KISS at its best.

I will also get him to fill in the bottom of the tank where the LHD hump is, should give me a few extra litres capacity.

Ok so you put a surge tank into the factory tank, that is fine I get that, but what is the go with the fuel pump ? Is it just mounted there and now you will run a feed line to the surge ?

I just though you might be doing something funky inside with lines or some special sort of pump.

Do you get any issues with hard mounting the pump like that ?

it would have to be rubber mounted, it lookls like a 044 and they are noisy :) they can also get a bit hot and I'm guessing the radiator in front of it will not be helping. I mention this crap as this is the logic I've been working with and why I have not mounted my pumps on the firewall. Also on a tangent what size lines are you going to be running? I'm running AN-6 high pressure and AN-8 low, off on a tangent question, can I run a fuel cell legally? I hope so or I have one for sale lol

guys please take not most of the pic's are of things in the process of being built.nothing is set in concrete yet.

once the rubber is in place and the pump is actually mounted ,noise shouldn't be a problem, these pumps are quiet compared to edelbrock ,carter ,facetblah blah blah.
6 is a return size 8 for supply.6 each way is also fine.
as for the fuel cell all engineers have there own interpration of the rules.but no from my understanding unless it has an internal bladder.
as for the solid mounting of the pump ,never had a problem.you can run the intank. but i preffer a pump that is going to be siuted to any mods done in the future. i will post up some more stuff tonight.air ducting for the radiator is lokkin pretty cool.

anyone else got pic's of how they have ducted there air into the radiator.i would like to have an idea how everyone else does there's.you can never have to many idea's.

thats the link to the whole thread - page three is about the cooling from the vents. Looks a little crappy, but the idea is there and can be made to look better.
