US Owner Needs Your Thoughts and Prayers

I learned just a few hours ago of a serious situation concerning USCB via a Samba thread.
He has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and has begun chemotherapy treatments.
He is a long time VW enthusiast and restorer......has been big into early Beetles, but last year restored a CB imported from Oz.
I'm sure any words of encouragement would be appreciated which would help brighten his thoughts and speed him toward a complete recovery.
Any AVD members who are also Samba members can offer their thoughts here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=275964
If not a Samba member, I would suggest extending best wishes in this thread and/or sending an AVD PM.

USCB is one of the nice guys.

I have known Erich for 12 years and meet up with him at Bad Camberg each time it is on. We caught up again last June and spend along time talking Country Buggies.
I have sent him an email directly and certainly wish him the speediest of recoveries.
His wife Wendy spend hours and hours in the restoration of their Country Buggy and she did not shy away from pulling the engine down for a rebuild.
They had their first child ,Karsten, in November/December so he needs to get better to watch Karsten become another avid VW fanatic.

Erich reports in the Samba thread on Sunday about his progress and treatment schedule:

"Friends,
I just wanted to let you know that Tuesday (today, 2/19/08) I go in for round two of Chemo. This is the big Chemo that really knocks things out."

Best of luck, Erich!!!
Regards,
Steve

More updates from Erich:

Thu Feb 28
"Well Guys I have been feeling fine and the chemo is going well.
Wendy and I went to UCSF in San Francisco for there opinion last week. They did not give us good news. Sad
I have been doing so well that we called my doctor and now we are working on Stanford University for a second opinion.
I will keep you posted."

Wed March 5
"I have a referal to go to Stanford. We hope they will give me a better outlook then UCSF. UCSF wrote me off for dead.
We checked the doctors at Stanford and found a doctor that is more of a specialist in my cancer. So we may get a better outlook.
I will keep you guys informed."
