swimwagon

Hi, a friend of is wanting to see if there`s any Shvimvagens around (swimwagon->whatever/however its spelt) you know, the amphibious ugly duckling VW army contraption :-)

anyways, if we can find one for sale or even get a look at one in the flesh so he can maybe make up a copy type thing of one then way cool

so,,, any ideas people???

& i used to be good mates with Matt & Simon Berry from the brisbane "VOlksRestore" but i`m afraid that after they splt & Simon sold out to Richo & he then turned it into "VolksWorld" i`ve lost contact & i`d love to catch up with them again, so if anyone can help me there too then that`d be heaps wondefull :-)

cheers & thanks for any help you can give on both topics

vw54's right....
If you find a cheap couple of em, Let me know! i want one!

they are worth a pretty penny, and hardly common at all. Ur right though, they were a german military car from wwII, so if he wanted one, he got better chances getting them overseas cause anything that would be over here would have to have been freighted, cause the germans neva fought on aussie land, and he will need a big wallet cause alot of perished since wwII and they are collectables for sure.

THey weren't a production car for the public, just military, so there isn't all that many around really.

You would probably have better luck looking for a kit car manufacturer maybe... (if u did, it would certainly be cheaper)

Rays often takes his paddle boat to events that his club organises. Since he retired, Ray is not so often seen around. Ray's VW passion lies in the historical value of early cars. Ray has many rare and stunning cars, its a shame people don't see them as much anymore.
