Where can i find info on old bags and possibly NT railway?

Completely Off-topic i know, but I bought a wonderful old black leather satchell/briefcase from a market recently and I would love to get an age on it. Its quite huge, triple gussett, 4 areas inside, one zippered, one with a mini-flap and one with pen and pad slots. Havent seen anything like it before.

the other interesting thing is the stamp on the inside of the back pocket, appears to be the old NT symbol (the one with the T crossing through the N) and possibly 3 words encircling it, all I can make out of then is 'RTHERN W' I am thinking maybe it is an old train drivers bag?

I know its a strange thing to be asking about on here, but I have searched the net and I can't seem to dig up anything even vaguely related?

The 'RTHERN' fragment, in English, has to be 'NORTHERN', as no other English word starts or ends with 'RTHERN'.

yeah, I figured it'd have to be northern, but was stumped by the fact that the next word started with W.
