lowering front end
guys, can i remove a torsion leaf or two on the front end of my buggy to lower it approx. 50mm.? just thought it might be a cheaper alternative than
buying dropped spindles. thoughts please.

You can lower the front end with adjusters
the front end need to come out
there are the common sway a way adjusters that needs a piece to be taken out of the torsion bar tubes
with the torsion leaves removed...
and the adjusters welded into place..
best to do both tubes...
adjustment up and down...
then there are the better [more expensive] adjusters
which I cannot remember the name..
and are much?? easier to install...

avis adjusters are the other type, these require removal of the bearings/bushings from the end of the beam to install...
there are plenty of cars getting around with leaves removed, but its certainly not the ideal way to do it.
I would say drop spindles are the best method, but these will push your offset out 1/2 inch per side, which probably wont be an issue on a buggy...
You can land spindles for around $300, and the ride difference between removed leaves and spindles is well worth it!
