Thanks for the positive comments all.

Sorry Bizarre, but I will have to trim it or I might scratch the black shinny floor. But I agree it would look hot with the bright orange insides and a black shinny floor, maybe I can remove carpets when entering the VW nationals :D Also I didn't prepare the inner B & C panels well enough for a finished painted look after installing 3 point seat belts in the front and rear.

Lee, it will be original flipper windows for this baby.

Look forward to just getting the body back on the pan.

Cheers, Kev

My baby came home today and I am very happy with the result. Looks best in person and in the sunlight.

Whilst driving home I noticed a lot of people looking in my direction and people walking along the footpath turning around as I drove past and kept looking and the thing is that I don't think they were looking at my tow car :fakesniff: which is really a great sign

Long live the Vee Dub :tu:

Another small update: I have fitted up my new tandem master cylinder, Volvo reservoir, brake and clutch pedals, new flexible and solid brake lines and now I have brakes that work :)

Also just spent $250 buying steel braided fuel hoses and Earl's type connectors just for my delivery and return fuel lines that I have routed through the tunnel and out of the original fuel outlet in the frame horns. The passengers side one is the delivery and I drilled and fitted one to the drivers side for return. This being for future plans of the one day EFI/Turbo. Lot easier to do this now than later on and will save time.

Now my next job is to stick the floor pan seal down and refit the body, something I am very much looking forward to.

The coming together of two (not me and the misses but the floor pan and the body). The body is back on for the final time after 3 years of being separated.

Got the daughter involved so as I could get some work done and still look after her during these school holidays.

Gee, this colour looks different in different lights. Looks best when out in full sunlight. And a mobile phone camera doesn't help.

Hi Paul,

I dont want to set myself a date to have it finished by, as then I could rush things and make mistakes or just bad decisions. I basically want to have it on the road as soon as possible as it has been over 3 years since I bought it.

Managed to have fair bit of time today and got stuck into it. The photos should show what I managed to achieve. The pain part is when you have to fit and remove parts, make adjustments and then refit them all over again.

The last photo is showing the 5 piece Kafer Bar I got off Craig Torrens.
