What road to Portland
I am leaving in the morning from Wollongong and am heading to Portland for the racing and need to know which road to take when I am almost in
Melbourne . I will need to know the flatest route as I am towing a trailer and will head for Geelong . Do I take the road through Colmac or should I
take the inland road to end up in Warrnabool . Any info from some one who knows the roads would be appreciated , ROD.

I spoke to 2 of the officials from Portland on wednesday night up at WSID . They advised me that it is best to take the Hume Highway direct to
Melbourne and as you approach the city , take the Western Ring Road which will take you directly to Portland Via Highways and freeways .
They said that the inland roads are shorter , but will take you a heap extra time as the speed limits range in many places from 60 to 80 kph and have
a lot more hills .
Team WPVW is leaving Wollongong at 8-30am Thursday also . See you all at Portland .
