wotcha

Hi, new dude from london, soon to be in brisbane permanently. I have had a LOT of Vw's mostly old skool and just let go of my mk1 Golf campaign GTi :(. Needs must, goin downunder...

Any Brissie boys or girls out there?

I am thinking of a project once I get settled, open to ideas really, don't know what the market is like or whats available down there. Quite fancy a G60, or a bay camper with a flat 6 installed, or something very very pretty. I'm into factory look with some minor euro-details and mechanical improvements where possible. But, thing is that's what I'm into in the UK, I'd like to learn the Aussie way really.

Gotta find a job too, so if anyone needs a Creative Director or Designer in Brisbane give us a tinkle. Thanks for reading. :)

Hi Fozzie,
There's a few poms on this site so you should fit in fine! Whereabouts in London are you from? I'm from the Elephant but am now residing up in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast, takes a bit of getting used to but sometimes you just have to force yourself:D

Hey ancient, Elephant and Castle eh? My mum was born there. I am working in Pimlico but I live out of town in Ewell Surrey. My 'rents love Noosa, very posh I hear?
My Sister in Law lived in Springfield lakes, now she's built a house just south of there. I have never been to Brisbane, so time will tell how I cope with the heat. I'm sure it'll be fine.

The important stuff is cars, jobs and barbies right? LOL

I'm sure I've got a piece of paper here somewhere that says I'm Australian now? Yep, here it is ! That's right I remember now, I came all this way, swore allegiance to the Queen and am now a bona fide aussie:lol: BTW fozzie, after I got married to the missus we bought a house just down the road from you at Cheam, lived there for about a year, sold up and came to Oz. So when you get here we'll put the barbie on, might even invite a bloke called Matt:smilegrin:

Hey old chaps, I'll even talk like a pom if a barby an dub's involved.
For a short time ....anyway.

What sort of dub are you looking for when you get here, mozzie?

Open to suggestions really, not really experienced bugs and bajas, mostly been into golfs, corrados, polos, audi and seats. TBH I want to see what the aussie take on dubs is and then decide on which model to persue. I like the idea of a camper, a ghia or similar.

Hey you do have a dilemma, a camper is nothing like a ghia, still, I haven't been to the UK..
