yeah i know but some people like them shame to see it sit in a shed , it was a toss up between getting rid of this or the 42DCNF that i have. If it dont sell it goes on a buggy for the farm.

Ain't nothing wrong with bugsprays they do wear out fast, but set up correctly they make good power more then a single dcn :)
my 1641 with extractors bodgy P&P on the heads and bugspray made 49.7rwhp so they cant be that bad

if a kit goes thru them and the throttle shafts are good they should work fine, plunger for this cost about $30.00 from memory.

Hi

I had one of these on a 1641 with a power pulley, extractors, 009. It did a 18.00 sec 1/4 mile in a Superbug and would do 42 mpg, it did suffer from manifold freezing in winter that can be cured with a warm air intake.

ive tried these things, dcns, dcnf etc

they work ok if u spend the time friggin around to set them up but basically they have 2 settings idle and flat stick, not much in between

id go a DCN/F any day over them but even theyre getting harder to find

the biggest problem with bug sprays is that cast base loves to freeze like a mofo so a good preheat system is essential and the height of them is like having a sky scraper in ur engine bay

but to find a good complete one on a good twinport manifold with heaters like this is a rare thing

H

Joels right, they are bit like a light switch. The cause of the freezing is the step/offset between the middle housing and the throttle housing, it speeds the air up in that area causing the freezing, id thought of porting in that area but might upset something else.

Steve
