Hi

My son is 6' 6" and he's only 16 1/2, he has trouble fitting in our Prado, but in my daily driver bug I fitted Honda Prelude seats, but I set them lower and further back than stock seats. In the bug he can now put the seats so far back he cant get the clutch in and he has heaps of headroom. He's learning to drive in this bug and it will be his when he gets his Ps.

1500 bug seats are usually pretty horrible anyway so after market seats may be the go.

I moved them back on my bug by using old Volvo seat mounts and a couple of 3 x 1 tubes (with crush tubes). I just welded them in further back.

Hi

I dont have any pictures handy. My bug is a 74 so it uses the T shaped runners as used from 71-74, 75 & 76 bugs used a 3 point runner.

I just used the stock base frames and welded brackets to it suit the seat, so the seats have both the Honda VW adjustment, the VW adjustment was always stiff, but the Honda slides very easily.

You need to really lower the stock seat frame otherwise seat will sit very high.

Steve
