Spingplate stop on a lowered bay
I want to lower the rear of my bay p/van one outer spline. Will this leave the spring plates resting on there stop when the van is off the ground as
it does at standard height? I'm running a reasonably large tyre on the rear and if the springplate doesn't rest on the stop the tyres will not fit
into the wheelarch opening.
I've had a van some time ago that had been lowered by two outer splines & it was a major pain to remove the rear tyres.

I did one spline to a bay rear, and it just kissed the lower stop when jacked up, I could the spring plate and get it back on by hand over the stop
with just a minor lift pressure.

Don't forget if you jack the car up there will be no weight or force on the bus and at one spline you can usually pull the wheel down to get the
spring plate back to the bottom stop anyway. When you start getting to two and up from stock you will have issues as to get to the bottom stop you
will need to lever it down, thi sis easy enough with a stock kombi jack above the trailing arm.

I've fitted drop plates already with the rim/tyre, and I can just squeeze them in the arch if I push & spin the tyre thru the wheel arch.
So if I lower it by one spline, I should still be able to fit these rims on?
Thats how I had to remove them on the last one.. jamming another jack above the trailing arm.
Not fun when it slips out on the side of the road though.
The rims are benz items 15x7 & 235/75 r15 white walls.
There friggin' huge!

go to a smaller tyre. Mine is lowered 2 on the outer and one on the inner with 225/60/15 and to remove replace the wheel is an artform. but it isn't
that hard to do.
