They look tough like that! Mine got pretty hot in sydney with the fan so i'd imagine the no fan option wouldn't be such a good idea :smilegrin:

What fuel are you going to run, if you use methanol you could get away without the fan, bit more power without it.

Good news is the engine is in and running well.
Bad news is I have an oil leak from around the area of the top LH stud on the oil pump which looks to be coming out between the pump flange and case. Doesn't start until oil (or case) warms up.
Pulled the pump and resealed with Loctite 518 and fitted a new cover gasket thinking oil was travelling down the stud. Still leaks.
I'm going to pull it again and have a good look to make sure there is no crack around the stud in the case. If it's ok i'll fit the pump from the turbo motor to eliminate the pump.
Question....bought a pump puller but with the plug in the gallery the rod wont engage in the hole. Anyone have any tricks for pulling the pump other than scrapers and screwdrivers. Don't want to damage any sealing faces.

That's a bummer..... I made my own oil pump puller twenty years ago.... Fits perfectly.... Maybe you can mod the one you have to fit better?

Well it appears leak has been fixed. What first appeared to be a crack running from pressure port in case ended up being a score from the plug in the pump outlet created when pump was installed. Some careful blending seems to have sorted it. I still have one finger crossed though.
Just need to refit a decklid and hopefully a tnt in the coming weeks.
